It will cover opportunities for higher education in the European Union Centres of Excellence, the Jean Monnet program, and Erasmus Mundus, among others, as well as opportunities for research and mobility in the Seventh Framework Programme.

Ms. Vanessa DeBiais-Santon, Policy Officer (Marie Curie Actions), DG Education and Culture, European Commission, spoke and answered questions live on line about opportunities for Canadians in FP7 career development and mobility programs:

  • Marie Curie International Fellowships support both European placements for researchers from Canada and Canadian placements for researchers from Europe.
  • International Research Staff Exchange Scheme supports researcher and research staff exchanges.
  • Marie Curie Initial Training Grants support Canadian PhD students at European universities and facilitates doctoral training networks that can include Canadian universities.

FP7 Opportunities - Italian Research Community in Canada, Montreal (28 April, 2011)

This event, organized by the Italian Scientific Community in Canada, was a roundtable discussion sponsored by the Italian Cultural Institute of Montreal, the Consulate-General of Italy in Montreal, and the Italian Embassy in Ottawa.
